Art Direction for Theater and Musical Productions

Design, theater and music are all part of my journey, and they come together in the projects collected here. Between 2024 and 2026, I developed the visual communication for productions in São Paulo, turning themes, atmospheres and stage experiences into posters, programs and digital pieces for social media.

I also take part in these productions as a performer. Being on stage brings my designer’s eye closer to the creative processes, the people and the stories each project wants to tell, and that is reflected in the way I create each visual identity.

Period: 2024–2026

Contexts: Teatro Escola Macunaíma, Estúdio de Treinamento Artístico (ETA) and the Oficina Livre de Interpretação dos Satyros

My design role: visual concept, art direction, graphic composition, layout and adaptation of the pieces to different formats (printed posters and digital extensions such as feed and stories)

C’est la Fucking Vie (2024): The City as Language

TTeatro Escola Macunaíma · São Paulo

Performances: December 2, 3 and 4, 2024

Director: Zé Aires

Source work: Trilogia das Pessoas (People Trilogy), by Ivam Cabral and Rodolfo García Vázquez, with a collective adaptation by the group

About the production

People who cross the city unnoticed find space in stories about exclusion, desire and the pursuit of happiness. The production brings the audience closer to lives that are often made invisible and exposes the contradictions of human relationships.

Visual concept

The language of graffiti conveys the urban intensity of the production. Faces cross paths without looking at each other, expressing the physical closeness and emotional distance that coexist in the city. Fragmented shapes, color contrasts and wall textures build a universe of encounters and missed connections, and the title speaks to street lettering.

In the production’s program, the identity unfolds across pages with the synopsis, cast, credits and creative process. Black-and-white portraits, frames and overlays bring the graphic design close to a collage, keeping people at the center of the narrative.

As Faces do Amor (2025):

Many Voices, Different Affections

(The Faces of Love)

Visual concept

The composition brings together different faces in one continuous image, connected by colors, curves, hearts and musical notes. This multiplicity visually expresses the gathering of voices that gives the performance its name.

The palette of lilac, coral, green and orange creates a delicate, expressive atmosphere; in the title, the alternating colors reinforce the diversity of the image, and the white areas keep the information easy to read.

In the digital formats, the framing alternates between the full composition and close-ups of the faces, keeping the identity recognizable across pieces with different proportions and amounts of information.

About the production

A performance by the Saturday-afternoon singing class at Estúdio de Treinamento Artístico, showcasing the vocal work developed by the participants throughout the semester.

Raízes e Asas (2025):

The Body Finds Support, the Voice Finds Space

(Roots and Wings)

Visual concept

The idea was born from something I noticed while learning to sing myself: the voice begins in the body’s support, in feet planted firmly on the ground. The roots represent that foundation; the wings, the freedom of notes that project beyond ourselves.

I translated this relationship into a central figure that connects earth and flight. The roots extend the body, the birds open the composition toward space, and the yellow crown adds presence and strength.

The contrast between the orange background, the black-and-white figure and the yellow elements creates an identity with strong visual impact..

About the production

The closing performance of the ETA singing semester, with a live band and a repertoire of Brazilian and international music. Solos, duets, trios and group numbers brought together different voices and experiences on stage.

Entre Espelhos e Ruínas (2026):

Body, Reflection and Fragmentation

(Between Mirrors and Ruins)

Visual concept

The image brings together a sculptural-looking body, mirrors and fragments in a dark environment. The reflections multiply the figure and create an unstable perception of space, bringing the composition closer to the ideas of exposure and rupture.

The contrast between the cool tones of the scene and the orange typography establishes two levels of reading: the image holds the tension; the text gives presence to the title and organizes the information. The word “Entre” (“Between”), shifted to the side, follows the fragmentation suggested by the mirrors.

Espaço dos Satyros · São Paulo

Context: Performance Module of the Oficina Livre de Interpretação dos Satyros (Satyros Open Acting Workshop)

Director: Renato Moraes

Assistant director: Leon Carvalho

Coordination: Rodolfo García Vázquez

About the production

A piece developed in the Satyros Performance Module, in a process of research into the body, exposure and encounter. The experience moved through feelings of vulnerability, chaos, fear and laughter, which are also present in the atmosphere of the visual communication.

A Mesma Espera (2026):

A Meeting Point for Different Stories

(The Same Wait)

Visual concept

The identity concentrates the narrative in an everyday element: a sign that evokes a bus stop. Isolated in the composition, it turns waiting into a recognizable image open to many meanings. Paint textures and a palette of beige, terracotta and blue give the scene materiality; the condensed typography holds the title in blocks, and the empty spaces reinforce the feeling of a pause.

This economy of elements preserves the strength of the image in the promotional pieces. In the version with the synopsis, the same visual universe takes on more content and expands the audience’s introduction to the production.

Espaço dos Satyros · São Paulo · Satyrianas Festival

Director: André Lu

Assistant director: Bruna Cortez · Coordination: Rodolfo García Vázquez

About the production. Everyone is waiting for something: a bus, an answer, a diagnosis, a job, an opportunity. Through music, humor, the absurd and the grotesque, different stories meet and reveal that waiting can also be a place to be.

Thank you for making it this far!

These projects bring together two parts that are very present in my life: design and the art of being on stage. I also want to express my appreciation to everyone who shared these processes with me and trusted my eye to give shape to each story.

Have a theater, music or culture project in mind?

Let’s talk! I’d love to hear your idea and think about what we can create together.
